Oversees all activities of the mailroom including receipt, sorting
and distribution of incoming mail and preparation of outgoing mail.
Delivers mail and internal correspondence throughout the organization.
Collects outgoing mail or packages and uses scales and postage meters
to weigh
and affix postage.
Uses a gas or electric-powered forklift to load and unload, move
or stack catalogs. Stacks or piles materials in a safe manner at the
specified locations. Supplies work areas with catalogs.
Performs repetitive work to stuff catalogs into designated mailing
receptacles.
Receives incoming catalogs. Counts items received and checks against
packing lists, recording any discrepancies. Prepares receiving reports
and notes any shortages or damages. Stores catalogs in trailers using
forklifts.
Responds to customer requests for literature. Uses computer to access
and/or update customer records. Receives and processes orders for products
or merchandise by mail, phone or internet. Uses computer to complete
orders. May research and rectify customer problems.
Requirements:
High school diploma.
High level of attention to detail.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Keyboard and 10-key skills.
Computer literate and proficient with MS Office.
Able to solve basic problems.
Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Can stand, lift and bend for up to eight hours per day.
Able to sit for extended periods, up to three hours at a time.
