Marketing - Merchandise Managers

Description:

  • Responsible for the marketing of products through product selection and product promotion.
  • Search the market place for products, analyze competitive offerings and interact with customers.
  • Initiate and recommend products for purchase or product development based on expressed or emerging needs of the customer.
  • Establish the product requirements based on an understanding of the competitive marketplace and customer needs, including price, quality, aesthetics and packaging.
  • Serve as the executive contact with vendors, providing Buyers and Control Buyers with an escalation point when needed.
Qualifications:
  • Strong communications and creative skills, mathematical skills, organizational and interpersonal skills are imperative.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, merchandising, procurement or related field required, or equivalent experience (at least six years in a purchasing or merchandising environment with decision-making responsibility); MBA highly desirable.
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to hit deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to conduct and interpret market studies is critical.
