Responsible for the marketing of products through product selection
and product promotion.
Search the market place for products, analyze competitive offerings
and interact with customers.
Initiate and recommend products for purchase or product development
based on expressed or emerging needs of the customer.
Establish the product requirements based on an understanding of
the competitive marketplace and customer needs, including price, quality,
aesthetics and packaging.
Serve as the executive contact with vendors, providing Buyers and
Control Buyers with an escalation point when needed.
Qualifications:
Strong communications and creative skills, mathematical skills, organizational
and interpersonal skills are imperative.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, merchandising, procurement or related
field required, or equivalent experience (at least six years in a purchasing
or merchandising environment with decision-making responsibility); MBA
highly desirable.
Must be detail-oriented, able to hit deadlines and work well under
pressure.
Ability to conduct and interpret market studies is critical.
