Manufacturing Operations - Assembler - Jewelry Components, Finishing

The members of the Assembly team all share common job responsibilities. They may each “specialize” in particular products or processes within the team, but all are cross-trained to do one another’s roles, and they cross-train over time to maintain career interest.

Description:

  • This team assembles small jewelry components.
  • On this team you will assemble parts according to instructions and drawings, using hands, hand tools or portable powered tools.
  • May work at bench as member of assembly group assembling one or two specific parts and passing unit to another worker.
  • May be assigned to different workstations as production needs require or shift from one station to another to reduce fatigue factor.
  • Verify conformance of parts to stock list using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers.
  • Align components for assembly.
  • Remove high spots and smooth surfaces.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent manual dexterity, good eyesight (with or without correction) and an ability to maintain high productivity on repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to follow instructions and apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to solve basic problems.
  • Add and subtract two digit numbers; multiply and divide 10s and 100s by 2, 3, 4, 5.
  • Perform basic arithmetic.
  • Desire to learn and willingness to work on a team with others.
