- Provide training, guidance, inspiration and business strategic direction
for associates to become effective Participative Managers.
- Business Team Coaches are responsible for 814 teams comprised
of 310 people each.
- Responsible for two primary areas: development of people resources
into people with management skills, and provision of direction and
information related to the corporate strategy, goals and requirements.
- Activities include:
- Assess individuals and teams to determine team management
level.
- Lead and participate in process improvement efforts.
- Review quality requirements with teams and make plans to ensure
quality expectations are met.
- Assist teams in determining resource needs.
- Provide individual career counseling.
- Assist teams in providing behavioral or performance related
counseling to teammates.
- Mediate in conflict resolutions.
- Understand corporate financial and business goals, and interpret
those goals for teams.
- Assist teams in developing measurements that will enable them
to achieve corporate goals.
Coaches are not functionally siloed. An individual coach will
have teams in all functional areas of the company, and will partner
with other coaches to provide a full range of enterprise vision,
support, and coaching styles to their teams.
- Coaches come from a variety of backgrounds. In all cases, a college
degree is required and a Masters degree is desirable.
- Management experience at a high enough level to have achieved global
corporate perspective, teaching experience, human resources, quality,
safety, career counseling, training or other specialty management experience
all may qualify you for a position as a coach.
- Excellent communication skills, the ability to motivate individuals
from a wide range of backgrounds, and the willingness and ability to
consistently lead from the highest possible example of professional
and personal performance are all requirements of this role.
- A desire to pursue personal and professional growth as a part of the
role is also necessary.
- Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds may be required.
